We are seeking an experienced Temp Technical Designer to join our client’s team on a full-time basis, working in the office.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr – $35/hr
Position Overview:
The Temp Technical Designer role is key in ensuring that the designs are translated into high-quality, production-ready garments that meet the standards for fit, construction, and function. As a Temp Technical Designer, you will collaborate with Designers, Production teams, and factories to bring the company’s vision to life, handling the technical aspects of design from initial concept through production.
Responsibilities of the Temp Technical Designer:
- Develop and maintain detailed technical sketches, tech packs, and specifications for assigned styles.
- Work closely with the Design and Production teams to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved.
- Conduct fit sessions, evaluate garment fit and construction, and make necessary adjustments to patterns and measurements.
- Communicate with vendors and factories to troubleshoot production issues, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Track and manage sample submissions, revisions, and approvals throughout development.
- Review and update specs, graded measurements, and construction details based on feedback from fittings and production evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and accuracy across all technical details and specifications.
Qualifications for the Temp Technical Designer:
- 3+ years of experience in technical design within apparel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CAD, and PLM systems. Strong skills in creating detailed tech packs and fit documentation.
- Experience with fit evaluation, patternmaking, and garment construction.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards for fit, grading, and sizing.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
