Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Assistant Merchandiser to join our dynamic team at a leading fashion company. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the merchandising team, managing product data, and ensuring a seamless flow of communication between cross-functional teams. This is a full-time permanent position with hybrid work flexibility, requiring three days a week in our NYC office.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Merchandiser:

  • Collaborate with Merchandisers to assist in the development and execution of product assortments and seasonal line plans.
  • Manage and update product data, ensuring accuracy across internal systems, line sheets, and presentation tools.
  • Conduct competitive market research and trend analysis to support merchandising strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of sales and inventory reports, using data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Coordinate sample management, including tracking, distribution, and maintenance of sample inventory.
  • Communicate with vendors, production teams, and other internal departments to track orders, timelines, and delivery schedules.
  • Support in-store merchandising initiatives, including planning and visual execution.
  • Attend meetings and presentations, taking notes and following up on action items as needed.

Qualifications of the Assistant Merchandiser:

  • 1–2 years of experience in merchandising or a similar role, preferably in the fashion industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and other data management tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Passion for fashion and a keen understanding of industry trends and consumer behavior.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
