Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Senior Credit & Collections Manager, the company’s Credit and Collections Specialist will be primarily responsible for managing overall collection functions for their assigned portfolio- including engagement with customers with delinquent balances and assisting with account reconciliation & payment misapplication issues.

Responsibilities of the Credit and Collections Specialist:

  • Accounts Receivable Management / Collections:
    • Maintain a portfolio of accounts and work towards resolving any delinquent balances.
    • Assist as needed in resolving billing issues with clients.
    • Enlist the efforts of Sales and Senior Management when necessary to improve client billing and receivable performance.
    • Work closely with the Senior Credit & Collections Manager on troublesome accounts, as well as outside counsel when applicable.
    • Provide continued updates on collection quality and problem accounts to the Senior Credit & Collections Manager.
  • Account Reconciliations:
    • Maintain a portfolio of accounts and work towards resolving any delinquent balances.

Qualifications for the Credit and Collections Specialist:

  • Specific credit & collections experience is not required but preferred.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and computer systems in general.
  • High-level organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player that helps and works with others to achieve higher goals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills Ability to analyze high volumes of data.
  • Comfortable reaching out to client contacts via phone calls to resolve issues.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality standards Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting/Finance preferred).
