Currently, they are looking to expand their team by hiring a Senior Director, Content Strategy.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$105k – $120k
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Senior Director, Content Strategy to oversee content strategy and development. The Senior Director, Content Strategy will guide content creation, lead a growing team, and manage the firm’s high-profile publications. The ideal candidate for the Senior Director, Content Strategy role is a creative communicator, experienced in editorial writing, project management, and data-driven content strategy.
Responsibilities of the Senior Director, Content Strategy:
- Content Strategy & Planning: Analyze current publications and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with internal leaders to align messaging with target audiences. Develop the annual editorial calendar, optimizing diverse channels to enhance thought leadership. Explore and manage sponsored content partnerships. Coordinate content distribution strategies with field marketers and business development teams.
- Content Development & Project Management: Serve as the lead author and project manager for flagship publications like the Philanthropic Landscape and Philanthropy Pulse Report. Oversee high-profile projects involving content creation, data reports, case studies, and more. Partner with sector leaders to create messaging and sales materials tailored to industry needs. Use client surveys and data insights to produce additional reports and publications. Support sponsored content initiatives in collaboration with external partners.
- Team Management & Content Optimization: Manage and grow the Content Marketing team including supervising the current Content Manager, recruit and onboard a new copywriter in 2025, and setting clear performance goals and provide coaching for team development. Establish and maintain a unified voice for all external messaging. Act as a key editor for content from related marketing teams.
Qualifications of Senior Director, Content Strategy:
- 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven success in leading content strategy and development.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Strong analytical skills to drive data-informed content decisions and identify trends.
- Integrity, accountability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, WordPress, HubSpot, and Google Analytics.
- Knowledge of the nonprofit or fundraising sector is a plus.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the organization.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
