Accountant

Atrium Staffing is working with a fast growing construction services and products company located in Tampa, FL. They are looking to add an Accountant to their team. This is an incredible opportunity for a Accountant to join a collaborative department in a important role. The Accountant must possess strong month-end experience, team oriented attitude, and have a strong understanding of general accepted accounting principles.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60k – $85k DOE

Position Overview:

The Accountant will join a dynamic Accounting department and primarily assisting reconciliations, advanced cash applications and assisting in month & year-end close. This Accountant position will be provided with an opportunity for advancement and progression within the department as they grow out their new headquarters.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Process equipment and warranty credits as needed.
• Process refund checks and send reports to Accounts Payable and the AP Manager.
• Update intercompany reconciliation.
• Send requests to the insurance company to get a certificate as requested by the customer.
• Pre-close Duties:
  • Month-end journal entries.
  • Balance sheet packages.
  • Health insurance coding.
• Month-end Duties:
  • Update trial balance.
  • Format AR reports for reporting.
  • Assist with the AR audit spreadsheet.
  • Upload EOM journal entries.
• Ad hoc projects delegated by the Assistant Controller and Group Controller.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accountant:

• 1 – 2+ years of accounting experience (internships included) in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (v/h-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, and sum if).

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accountant:

• Prior experience with advanced cash applications is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in the construction or building materials industry is highly preferred.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
