Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k – $75k
Position Overview:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Menswear Designer to join our client’s Design team. The Associate Menswear Designer will play a key role in developing and executing trend-forward, high-quality designs that align with the company’s vision and meet the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities of the Associate Menswear Designer:
- Collaborate with the Design team to conceptualize and develop seasonal collections that reflect market trends, customer preferences, and brand objectives.
- Research industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer insights to inform design strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
- Assist in creating detailed technical sketches, CADs, and design boards for presentations and production handoffs.
- Work closely with the Sourcing and Production teams to select fabrics, trims, and other materials that meet design and quality standards.
- Review and provide feedback on samples, ensuring designs are executed accurately and meet company specifications.
Required Experience/Skills for the Associate Menswear Designer:
- At least 3 years of experience in fashion design, preferably with exposure to private label or mass-market brands.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, textiles, and production processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a strong eye for detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
