Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100k – $150k

Position Overview:

The Controller will serve as the financial backbone of the company, overseeing all accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations. This role will focus on developing and managing comprehensive accounting strategies, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks that align with the company’s growth objectives. The Controller will also lead efforts to design efficient accounting systems and processes to support scalability and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial operations and accounting, with experience in supply chain or construction materials industries strongly preferred. This individual will also collaborate with leadership on financial planning initiatives and build a strong accounting team to meet the company’s evolving needs.

Responsibilities of the Controller:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with technology and operations teams to support the Infor ERP setup, ensuring alignment with accounting and financial reporting requirements.
  • Implement and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end close processes, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions within Infor, RealPage, and other financial systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax laws, audit standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Provide transparency into financial performance to company leadership through detailed reporting and analysis of key metrics.
  • Partner with supply chain and distribution teams to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of inventory, logistics, and vendor payments.
  • Support pricing strategies and operational decision-making through accurate financial insights and forecasting.
  • Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing accounting team capable of managing the complexities of a growing business.

Required Experience/Skills for the Controller:

  • Experience: 8 + years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management, including 3+ years in leadership roles. Experience in supply chain or distribution industries is required.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling accounting teams and systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Strong understanding of supply chain operations and inventory accounting.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and financial tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Controller:

  • Infor and RealPage is preferred.
  • Construction materials industry experience is strongly preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is required.
  • MBA is preferred.
