Salary/Hourly Rate:

$120k – 150k DOE

Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer plays a vital role in managing and enhancing the organization’s financial operations, guiding strategic initiatives, and ensuring overall operational effectiveness. As a key member of the executive team, the Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the CEO and oversees finance, and other administrative functions. This position is responsible for aligning operational processes and policies with the company’s strategic objectives, fostering a work environment that prioritizes collaboration, accountability, and efficiency.

Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer:

  • Develop and recommend organizational, financial, and human resources policies and programs to the CEO, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and execution of the annual budget to support long-term financial health and strategic objectives.
  • Lead periodic audits, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and ensure adherence to relevant funding guidelines.
  • Provide strategic guidance on public relations efforts to build relationships with stakeholders, funders, partners, and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement administrative systems that enhance operational efficiency and ensure effectiveness.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute detailed reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, and update policies as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Proven financial acumen, including budget development, oversight, and compliance with regulatory environments, government contracts, laws, and audits.

Required Experience/Skills or the Chief Financial Officer:

  • 5 – 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant business management software.

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification preferred.
