Client Overview:

Our client, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization focused on arts education and community impact, is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Development Assistant to support their fundraising and communications efforts through the end of the year. With a mission rooted in equity, creativity, and empowerment, this organization partners with schools, donors, and local communities to bring transformative programming to underserved youth. Position Overview:

The Development Assistant will support the fundraising, marketing, and donor engagement initiatives of the organization. The ideal Development Assistant is an excellent communicator with a passion for nonprofit work and an eye for detail. Responsibilities of the Development Assistant:

  • Assisting with donor database entry and maintenance.
  • Drafting thank-you letters, donor communications, and email campaigns.
  • Supporting event planning logistics and communications for donor events and fundraising campaigns.
  • Researching prospective funders and partners to support grant applications and outreach.
  • Collaborating with the communications team on newsletters, social media, and campaign reports.
  • Tracking donor engagement and helping maintain an organized calendar of deadlines and deliverables.

Required Experience/Skills for the Development Assistant:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace. 
  • Interest in philanthropy, fundraising, or nonprofit communications.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Development Assistant:

  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in nonprofit, marketing, or administrative work.
  • Experience with marketing tools like Mailchimp or Canva.
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
