Client Overview:

Our client is a well-known retailer specializing in children’s wear. They have retail locations all across the US and are searching for a Freelance Sourcing Manager who specializes in denim for their office located in Secaucus, NJ. 

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$28/hr – $38/hr Depending on experience 

Position Overview:

The Freelance Sourcing Manager provides sourcing and operational support on the non all aspects of the Product Life Cycle from development to delivery.  The Freelance Sourcing Manager will be responsible for delivering products that are in line with the brand aesthetic, quality, and value that meet the business needs.

Responsibilities of the Freelance Sourcing Manager:

• Performs operational functions supporting designated product categories. Assists the Sourcing team in the development of the product from initial design concept to placement, production, and shipment.
• Anticipates potential problems and risks; generates ideas, insights and solutions 
• Has a critical eye for product and developing raw materials and finishes. Receives, organizes, and assesses samples for aesthetic and overall quality. Assists in product/cost engineering and resolution of any cost challenges
• Maintains effective communication with vendors to ensure shipments are delivered on time; troubleshoots and resolves any issues that arise.
• Takes initiative to utilize product knowledge to find new resources and creative methods of sourcing products to impact the assortment.
• Partners with the Director on the onboarding of new suppliers/ countries/ factories.
• Establishes and cultivates strong relationships with all internal and external business partners.

Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Sourcing Manager:

• You have 3+ years of sourcing experience in Product Development/Sourcing/Merchandising within the Denim category.
• You possess strong PLM experience.
• You possess Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets.
• You possess knowledge of the product development and production process as well as the technical aspects of the product.
• You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• You can demonstrate proficiency in negotiating and have influencing skills.
• You are proficient in retail math.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
