Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant to manage bookkeeping functions for multiple clients. This Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant role includes overseeing financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and assisting with tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have experience in public accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant:

  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for clients, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations.
  • Maintain accurate general ledgers and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns (individuals, businesses, partnerships, etc.).
  • Generate financial reports and provide insights for client financial decision-making.
  • Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
  • Maintain client communication regarding financial records and tax-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting requirements.
  • Support clients with QuickBooks setup, troubleshooting, and training if needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant:

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online & Desktop) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience with payroll processing and payroll tax filings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
