Client Overview:

Our client, an established personal care products developer is seeking a Chemist to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

The Chemist will support the R&D Lab by compounding and preparing personal care and cosmetic lab batches and performing finished product stability testing according to established procedures as per lab specifications. The Chemist performs physical testing eg pH, viscosity, SPG, and stability testing of finished products, per SOP.

Responsibilities of the Chemist:

  • Prepare/compound batches per product category and lab procedures
  • Perform day-to-day lab maintenance tasks and housekeeping in accordance with GLP
  • Maintain and update lab records
  • Assist in ordering lab raw materials and coordinating with vendors on lab supply needs
  • Manage raw material stocks and packaging inventory
  • Assist in other projects assigned

Qualifications for the Chemist:

  • Experience in GMP & GLP lab in the personal care/cosmetics & beauty products/fragrance/consumer care industries
  • Experience in compounding/formulation, wet chemistry techniques, general material characterization, finished products testing, stability testing
  • Experience in working with chemicals and solvents
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced and innovative environments

Education Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biology or related disciplines is required
