Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing organization specializing in the Construction Site Development aspect of Residential, Commercial, and Industrial projects. They are seeking a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$175,000 – $250,000 plus bonus

Position Overview:

As the Chief Operations Officer (COO), you will be responsible for overseeing and improving the company’s operational efficiency and performance. The Chief Operating Officer primary focus will be on the smooth execution of all operational processes, including site development initiatives, resource management, and strategic planning. You will partner with the executive leadership team to align operational strategies with business goals and lead day-to-day operations to ensure consistent growth, profitability, and innovation.

Responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer:

  • Operational Leadership and Management:
    • Develop and execute operational strategies to support company growth and operational excellence
    • Lead and oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic vision
    • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
    • Oversee resource allocation, project scheduling, and team performance to maximize efficiency
    • Cultivate a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance across all teams
  • EOS Implementation and Leadership:
    • Champion the successful adoption, integration, and ongoing execution of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) within the organization
    • Facilitate regular leadership meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment across departments
    • Ensure that EOS tools (e.g., Vision/Traction Organizer, Scorecard, Rocks, Level 10 Meetings) are utilized effectively to drive clarity, focus, and accountability
    • Provide coaching and guidance to leadership teams on EOS processes, fostering a culture of alignment and results-driven execution
  • Site Development and Project Management:
    • Oversee all site development projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution in accordance with project goals and objectives
    • Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders involved in site development projects
    • Drive operational efficiency in site development processes, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and project deadlines
    • Provide strategic oversight of resource planning and budgeting for site development initiatives, ensuring projects are completed within scope and budget
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other executives to ensure seamless integration of operational initiatives with other business functions such as marketing, pre-con management, project management, field operations, equipment management, safety, finance, and human resources
    • Identify and implement best practices across departments to optimize workflow and foster cross-departmental synergy
    • Lead and support organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and buy-in from all team members
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor operational budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and resource optimization
    • Ensure that operations are aligned with financial objectives, contributing to overall profitability and growth
    • Work with the finance team to develop forecasts, budgets, and performance analysis reports that support key operational decisions

Qualifications for the Chief Operating Officer:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Operations Officer or in a similar senior leadership role, ideally within Construction Site Development
  • Strong background in site development and project management, with hands-on experience managing complex site development projects
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and leading EOS within an organization, with a deep understanding of EOS principles and tools
  • Minimum of 5 years of operational leadership experience, including direct responsibility for teams, resources, and project outcomes

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required
  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
