Our client is looking for a dedicated and passionate Director of Development for Holocaust Survivor Services (HSS).
Salary/Hourly Rate
$130k – $170k
Position Overview:
The Director of Development role involves designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events, with a primary focus on supporting Holocaust Survivor Services within the nonprofit.
Responsibilities of the Director of Development:
- Conduct prospect research to identify and cultivate major gift, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Directly solicit potential donors through calls and in-person meetings.
- Develop and implement strategies for donor retention, recognition, and stewardship.
- Manage donor and prospect portfolios.
- Plan and execute fundraising events to engage donors and generate support.
- Collaborate with the Communications team on donor outreach and marketing materials.
- Implement and maintain an upgraded donor management system.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising data to assess performance and refine strategies.
Required Experience/Skills for the Director of Development:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of fundraising professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
- Passion and interest in a Jewish nonprofit.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is ideal but not required.
