Salary/Hourly Rate:
$150,000 – $200,000
Position Overview:
The Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities, including investment portfolio management, financial planning, accounting, and reporting. This individual will work closely with board members and advisors to ensure the family’s financial goals are met and sustained. The ideal Director of Finance candidate is a finance professional with a strong background in investment management, financial analysis, and accounting.
Responsibilities of the Director of Finance:
- Develop and implement investment strategies that align with the company’s financial goals and risk tolerance
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments and make recommendations for adjustments as needed
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities
- Provide detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making processes
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
- Manage the accounting functions, including budgeting, cash flow management, and financial transactions
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and other risk management strategies are in place
- Work with Controller on payroll and 401k administration as needed
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, advisors, and external partners
Qualifications for the Director of Finance:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a high-net-worth family office or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of investment management, financial planning, and accounting principles
- Proven track record of managing complex financial portfolios and delivering strategic financial advice
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Proficiency in financial software and tools
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
- MBA or CPA is preferred
