Client Overview:
Our client specializes in creating high-quality apparel with a strong focus on fabric selection, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Their collaborative and fast-paced environment fosters creativity and excellence across design, production, and sales teams. Currently, they are looking to add a Freelance Fabric Coordinator to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$25/hr – $30/hr
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Freelance Fabric Coordinator to manage the flow of fabrics and trims from order placement through production. This role is responsible for maintaining key reports, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring all materials meet company standards. The ideal candidate for the Freelance Fabric Coordinator will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
Responsibilities of the Freelance Fabric Coordinator:
- Report Management: Create and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) and Time & Action (T&A) reports after order confirmation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Design and Sales teams to ensure smooth fabric and trim processes.
- Fabric Tracking: Maintain fabric charts, color standards, and matching records for lab dips, strike-offs, and trims.
- Quality Control: Approve lab dips, strike-offs, bulk fabric, and trims while reviewing fabric content, care labels, and test reports.
- Vendor Communication: Address and resolve fabric and trim issues with vendors daily, ensuring clear communication and problem resolution.
- Production Coordination: Work with the Technical Design team to ensure fit samples are made with the correct fabric throughout the entire fit process.
- Sourcing & Library Maintenance: Create and manage a fabric and trim library for past productions to support future sourcing needs.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve issues with mills, factories, and vendors, ensuring production remains on schedule.
- Fit Session Attendance: Participate in fit sessions to address potential production challenges proactively.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Fabric Coordinator:
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, testing, and quality control processes.
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cross-functionally with design, sales, and production teams.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Fabric Coordinator:
- Prior experience in fabric coordination, sourcing, or production.
Education Requirements:
- A relevant college degree is required.
