Client Overview:

Our client, a non-profit organization, is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their growing team. The Grant Accountant has impressive academic achievements, and hands-on Grant experience, and is excited to develop their skills in accounting in a team-collaborative accounting department.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$55k – $65k + DOE

Position Overview:

The Grant Accountant will be the primary assistant to the Accounting Department, supervised by the CFO. This is an incredible opportunity for a Grant Accountant professional to progress their accounting career in a position that will develop alongside the departmental (system & processes) changes in the first year.

Responsibilities of the Grant Accountant:

  • Perform month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure grant compliance, including proper tracking, reporting, and reimbursement billing.
  • Review and manage accounts payable, credit card transactions, and general ledger accuracy.
  • Assist with budgeting, audits, cost allocation, and ad hoc financial projects.
  • Oversee fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other key financial schedules.

Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:

  • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in grant or nonprofit finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and grant compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (MIP, Ariett, and Ramp a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (CPA preferred or in progress).
