Client Overview:
Our client is a leading retail company dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Their diverse range of offerings includes apparel, home goods, electronics, and more, catering to a wide audience with varying tastes and preferences. Currently, they are looking to add an HR Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$23/hr – $24/hr
Position Overview:
The HR Assistant will support the Human Resources department in various functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and general administrative tasks. This HR Assistant role is essential for ensuring smooth and efficient business operations by providing administrative support and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR team.
Responsibilities of the HR Assistant:
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial phone screenings.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new hire packets, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Maintain and update employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of HR metrics and reports.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Provide support in resolving employee issues and conflicts, escalating to the HR Manager when necessary.
- Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
- Maintain training records and track employee participation.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and data entry.
- Assist with payroll processing and timesheet management.
- Coordinate HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance reports and documentation.
Qualifications for the HR Assistant:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in an HR administrative role.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking systems is a plus.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
