Client Overview:
Our client is a prestigious law firm specializing in corporate law, family law, criminal defense, etc. They are committed to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. The team is composed of experienced attorneys and dedicated support staff who work collaboratively to achieve outstanding results. They are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented entry level Legal Secretary to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$18+/hr
Position Overview:
The ideal Legal Secretary candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of legal terminology, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Legal Secretary prepares and format legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, and subpoenas.
Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary:
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate court appearances
- Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and physical
- Conduct legal research and gather information relevant to cases
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and handle client inquiries
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including creating exhibits and organizing evidence
- File documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information
Qualifications for the Legal Secretary:
- Minimum of years of experience as a legal secretary or in a similar role
- 1 year experience or internship preferred working for a law firm
- Familiarity with legal software and case management systems
- High level of attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED is required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
