Client Overview:
Our client is a highly reputable pain management and orthopedic spine surgery company. Specializing in spine and pain management, they are looking for a reliable patient Medical Scheduler from this industry.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr – $23/hr
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our orthopedic spine surgeons, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for both patients and medical staff. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities of the Medical Scheduler:
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for orthopedic spine surgeons.
- Ensure all necessary pre-operative and post-operative appointments are arranged.
- Confirm surgery dates and times with patients, surgeons, and operating room staff.
- Provide patients with detailed instructions regarding pre-operative preparations and post-operative care.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including surgical schedules, pre-operative clearances, and insurance information.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, operating room staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless surgical scheduling.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
- Coordinate with insurance companies to ensure all required documentation is submitted and approved.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including answering phones, managing emails, and maintaining office supplies.
Qualifications for the Medical Scheduler:
- 2+ years of experience scheduling for Pain Management or Orthopedic Spine Surgeon.
- Scheduling implant and neuromonitoring teams is preferred.
- Knowledgeable in eClinical Works, Epic, and Case Tabs.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
