Our client, a leading manufacturer of fabrication manufacturing and engineering services is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Clearwater, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Accountant to be involved in a highly visible position interfacing directly with cost accounting. The Senior Accountant must be technically strong, comfortable taking ownership of their respective financials and accounts receivable process, and be familiar with cost accounting principles and concepts.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$75k – $85k+ Depending on experience

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and supporting key financial decisions. This position requires the Senior Accountant to analyze and manage financial data, oversee assets and liabilities, and handle tax obligations. Additionally, the Senior Accountant is responsible for monitoring costs, assessing financial health, and contributing to overall fiscal stability. With a strong focus on cost analysis, the Senior Accountant ensures financial compliance while optimizing cost efficiency to support the organization’s objectives.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Perform cost accounting, manage monthly closings, and prepare balance sheets and income statements. Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and oversee cash disbursements.
  • Ensure accurate processing of accounts payable, manage invoice coding, and oversee customer accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams and customers.
  • Support external audits by gathering financial documentation, maintaining purchasing and invoicing systems, and ensuring compliance with accounting best practices.
  • Assist with account reconciliation, update customer files, manage monthly billing statements, and resolve financial discrepancies with the Controller.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:

  • Proficiency in GAAP standards and financial statement preparation.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with cost accounting principles and accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
