They are seeking a dynamic and driven Mid-Level Senior Staff Accountant with 3 to 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience eager to advance in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$75,000 – $80,000 plus 10% bonus

Position Overview:

In this role, the Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for reviewing, preparing, and posting various journal entries, as well as managing the preparation and recording of investment property disposals, including performance calculations and tax estimates. This permanent Senior Staff Accountant position offers long-term growth potential and clear opportunities for career advancement within the company.

Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant:

  • Review, prepare, and post a variety of journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee and prepare comprehensive account reconciliations, including debt, intercompany, and investment property accounts
  • Review accounts payable and receivable activities prepared by the Staff Accountant for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and assist in the analysis of financial statements, providing insights on performance
  • Record and manage disposals of investment properties, including performance calculations and tax estimates
  • Prepare and document opening balance sheets for newly acquired assets
  • Manage the loan portfolio, ensuring timely payments, monitoring covenants, and accurately calculating and accruing interest
  • Assist in the preparation and uploading of annual budgets for all entities, ensuring alignment with financial goals
  • Oversee the annual preparation and distribution of 1099 forms to comply with tax regulations
  • Support external tax accountants in preparing US and Australian tax returns
  • Lead the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Undertake various tasks and projects as directed by management to support business needs
  • Assist with cash flow projections for owned assets, ensuring liquidity and financial stability

Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant:

  • 4 to 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end close processes
  • Expertise in managing all aspects of the accounting cycle, from transaction recording to the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Strong understanding of the integration between sub-ledgers and general ledgers, ensuring seamless and accurate reporting across all financial systems
  • Proven ability to oversee and manage the entire accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the integrity of financial data throughout the accounting cycle
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex accounting concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders and collaborating effectively with internal and external teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, adapt quickly to changes, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of full-cycle accounting operations

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification preferred, or the willingness to pursue certification
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
