Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k – $95k
Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Accountant will work closely with all partners and staff. You have direct contact with clients in a variety of industries. You will prepare payroll tax and sales tax returns. You will also prepare and analyze tax planning projections. You keep up to date on current accounting practices and changes in tax laws. All your work will be accomplished while ensuring the confidentiality of the firm and clients.
Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Accountant:
- As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will prepare income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, not-for-profit organizations, and retirement plans.
- Assist associates and Staff Accountants with general tax return problems.
- Quantify and document federal and state income tax liabilities for tax returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Perform research on technical tax issues.
- Respond to client inquiries and taxing authority notices.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Accountant:
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills.
- Expertise with US GAAP.
- Proficient with computer tax preparation, research, and planning software programs.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
