Our client is a manufacturer looking to add a Spare Parts Specialist to their growing organization.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$65k – $75k
Position Overview:
The Spare Parts Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing spare parts inventory to ensure efficient operation and minimal downtime of equipment. This role involves ordering, tracking, stocking, and organizing spare parts, as well as coordinating with the Maintenance and Procurement teams to meet operational needs. The Spare Parts Specialist will play a key role in inventory management, supplier communication, and parts analysis to support optimal asset reliability and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities of the Spare Parts Specialist:
- The Spare Parts Specialist will maintain optimal stock levels of spare parts to support maintenance and repairs, utilizing inventory control systems and software to manage parts data.
- Source, order, and replenish parts as needed, negotiating with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality standards, and timely delivery.·
- The Spare Parts Specialist will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high standards for service and quality, and resolve any supply chain issues.·
- Maintain accurate records of all parts transactions, including purchases, stock levels, usage, and part histories to support inventory audits and reporting.
- Monitor usage trends, analyze parts consumption data, and generate regular inventory reports, recommending adjustments to optimize inventory turnover.
- The Spare Parts Specialist will inspect incoming parts for quality, accuracy, and condition, ensuring all items meet company and operational requirements.
- Support the Maintenance team in managing the spare parts budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and improving inventory efficiency.
- The Spare Parts Specialist will proactively identify and recommend process improvements for parts management, inventory tracking, and procurement.
Qualifications for the Spare Parts Specialist:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in inventory management, procurement, or logistics (experience in spare parts management preferred).
- Familiarity with inventory control software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) and procurement systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Education Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is required.
