Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60k – $65k

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting operations of the company by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with budget and forecast processes. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Process invoices, payments, and collections and ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.
  • Perform special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:

  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. SAP, Oracle) and strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
