$85k – $125k

Position Overview:

The Tax Manager will play a critical role in managing the firm’s Tax department, overseeing tax compliance, planning, and consulting services for their clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax and accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Responsibilities of the Tax Manager:

  • Oversee and review the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.  Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting services to clients. Develop and implement tax-saving strategies tailored to each client’s needs and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Serve as a trusted advisor, addressing their tax-related questions and concerns, and providing proactive advice.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals. Provide guidance and training to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations. Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues and provide guidance to clients and staff.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and procedures within the firm. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist in the growth of the firm’s tax practice by identifying new business opportunities and participating in marketing and networking activities.

Qualifications for the Tax Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA certification is required.
