Client Overview:

Our client is a well-known retailer that specializes in categories including women’s, men’s, and children’s apparel. They have retail locations all across the US and are searching for a Temp Associate Sourcing Manager for their office located in Secaucus NJ.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr – $35/hr Depending on experience

Position Overview:

The Temp Associate Sourcing Manager provides sourcing and operational support on all aspects of the Product Life Cycle from development to delivery. The Temp Associate Sourcing Manager will be responsible for delivering product that is in line with the brand aesthetic, quality, and value that meets the business needs.

Responsibilities of the Temp Associate Sourcing Manager:

• Performs operational functions supporting designated product categories.
• Assists the Sourcing team in the development of products from initial design concept to placement to production to shipment of an item.
• Anticipates potential problems and risks. Generates ideas, insights, and solutions.
• Has a critical eye for products and developing raw materials and finishes. Receives, organizes, and assesses samples for aesthetic and overall quality.
• Assists in product/cost engineering and resolution of any cost challenges.
• Maintains effective communication with vendors to ensure shipments are delivered on time. Troubleshoots and resolves any issues that arise.
• Takes initiative to utilize product knowledge to find new resources and creative methods of sourcing products to impact the assortment.
• Partners with the Director on the onboarding of new suppliers/ countries/ factories.
• Establishes and cultivates strong relationships with all internal and external business partners.

Required Experience/Skills for the Temp Associate Sourcing Manager:

• You have 3+ years of sourcing experience in Product Development/Sourcing/Merchandising within a large retail chain (Participation in a retail training program a plus).
• You possess knowledge of the product development and production process as well as technical aspects of the product (e.g., Materials, machinery, etc.).
• You have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• You can demonstrate proficiency in negotiating and have influencing skills.
• You are proficient in retail math.
• You are comfortable with and have experience embracing change and adapting to shifting priorities in a multi-task environment.
• You possess strong PC/Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on shared tools and Excel spreadsheet applications.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
